LABEL IT

Prepare yourself for another post in our Crafty Chaos series...

Are you trying to find a certain something, but you can't remember where you put it? Is it in the Sterilite box on the top shelf? Or maybe in the basket below it? Or in any of the other dozen containers you have? You just don't know! So, you take twenty minutes going through every container you own until you FINALLY find it!

Well, you will never have to waste twenty minutes trying to hunt down a certain something again! Just slap a label on all of those containers, so you know exactly what is in each one, just by looking at them! That's right--now you do not have to remember exactly WHAT GOES WHERE, because the label will remember it for you! And, don't fret, you do not even need a fancy label maker to come up with some cute and helpful labels!

You just need some paper, some letter stickers (or maybe a Sharpie if you'd rather write on your label), and some stamping ink (just to jazz up the cuteness a bit more)! And since you probably already have leftover materials from past projects, these labels are FREE! It's simple, fun to put together, and it will save you so much time and stress in the future! And because it looks nice, you will be extra motivated to keep everything organized!

We used a Cricut machine to cut ovals out of plain white printer paper (about 3.5 inches wide) and "shadow block-out" tags out of patterned paper. We used different letter stickers to actually label it, added a little color by inking up the edges of the labels, and then used paper clips or ribbon to attach the label to baskets or boxes.

How precious are those labels?! They are awesome, right? It is a great way to help you STAY ORGANIZED!

Materials:

-Printer Paper (Free (already had it))

-Scrapbook Paper (Free (leftover paper form other projects))

-Stickers (Free (leftover stickers from past projects))

-Stamping Ink (Free (already had it))

-Paper Clips (Free (already had some))

-Ribbon (Free (leftover ribbon from past projects))

(But if you don't happen to have leftover materials on hand for this project, you can find a huge pack of printer paper at WalMart, plenty of paper, stickers, ribbon, and stamping ink at Hobby Lobby for $1 or $2, or even less, and paper clips at the Dollar Tree.)

Feel free to share any of your organization tips in a comment below, and have a FABULOUS day!

DIY RIBBON STORAGE: FOAM BOBBINS

Prepare yourself for another post in our Crafty Chaos series...

Hey, y'all! Don't you just love ribbon? So do we! And we love it even more now that we have a more efficient way to store and organize our ribbon!

We used to keep ribbons on their original bobbins and store them in a Sterilite box. But, it took up a lot of room, and we wanted something that allowed us to store more ribbon in a smaller space, and not make us want to pull our hair out time we tried to squeeze it back into the container after using it (UGH!)...So, we got a 2mm 12" x 18" foam sheet and cut our very own bobbins! (If you want to be super precise, you can use an Exacto-knife and a cutting mat with a grid to get the "slots" for the ribbon the exactly perfect size--that's what Kaitlyn did for all of hers, and that worked a little better than my winging it!) This way, we can customize the bobbins for the different widths of ribbon, and the foam sheets come in lots of fun colors.

What used to be in two and a half Sterilite boxes now fits in one, thanks to these space-saving foam bobbins! How cool is that?! (Although, now we prefer cute baskets over Sterilite drawers, just because the baskets are so dang cute!) Now it's way easier to take ribbon in and out ( because the bobbins are flexible!), and we can fit so much more into one spot, and it just doesn't get much better than that!

Materials:

-2mm 12" x 18" (Hobby Lobby, 89 cents)

-Basket (Dollar Tree, $1)
