DIY DOG TREAT CANISTERS

Prepare yourself for another post in our Crafty Chaos series...

We love our puppies, and they love their treats! We figured we needed a way to easily store a variety of treats in one place to help save space (so we don't have fine different bags of treats), so we ran to WalMart and picked up a couple of these clear canisters (one to keep inside, and one to keep outside)...

First, we peeled off the stickers and washed the canisters with soap and water...

Then we gathered the supplies we wanted to use to create a "bone tag"--or, a label that says "TREATS" on it! We picked some paper, ribbon, stamping ink, and stickers, and we printed bones in the size and shape we wanted (using Microsoft clipart for the bones--we printed a few different sizes to use as templates so we could layer the bones on top of each other)...

After gathering our supplies, which were all things we already had on hand (this is a great project for using up paper and ribbon scraps), we cut out the bone shape, inked the edges of the paper with the green stamping ink, mounted it on the green paper and cut that out, and added our stickers and cute doo-dads (the eyelet, paw print, and bone). That landed us with this cute label...

And then of course it was time for the ribbon! We chose one with dog bones on them, and we tied them around each canister...

Then we added the label to one of the canisters with thin jewelry/crafting wire (the indoor one-if we put it on the outdoor one, the weather would just ruin it)...

Materials:

-Canister ($3ish, WalMart)

-Paper (Free, already had some0

-Ribbon (Free, already had some)

-Doo-dads (Free, already had some)

-Wire (Free, already had some)

*If you don't have random paper and ribbon scraps, etc, you can pick some up from Hobby Lobby for just a $1 or $2.

And that's it! We hope you like this idea! You could do something similar for a non-dog-treat canister. Maybe a Goldfish Cracker canister? or a cotton ball canister? Or something? Haha, let us know if you come up with any creative ideas for a dolled up canister!

SINFUL COLORS L.E. METAL WITH COLOR NAIL POLISH COLLECTION: REVIEW AND SWATCHES

Prepare yourself for another post in our Feeling Pretty series...

Hello, fellow nail polish addicts! We are excited to share yet another fabulous nail color collection with you! So, brace yourself for something beautiful...

Sinful Colors recently came out with a fabulous collection of metallic shades, called "Metal with Color." We were not able to find these at our local Walgreen's, but we did hunt them down at our local WalMart for $1.98 a piece. We got six polishes from the collection (but there are more than that in total).

From left to right, we have: "Silver Screen," "Moss Have," "Super Nova," "Lingot," "Dark Bronze," and "Dancing Nails."

"Silver Screen" is a shimmery, metallic (of course) silver shade! It is extremely vibrant, and goes on beautifully! It is extra sparkly with a nice consistency, and a lot of pigmentation. Two coats does the trick!

"Moss Have" is a light, mossy green with a definite gray undertone. It is super unique and gorgeous! The formula of this is not as nice as some of the others. It is thick and kind of "gloopy," so I found the best way to apply it is to put one small glob in the center of your nail and then spread it out carefully. Less is more with this one!

"Super Nova" is especially unique; so unique, I'm not even sure how to describe it. If you were to mix gold, bronze, mauve, and sparkle, it might come out looking like this! It is a rare sparkly, golden champagne with a pink undertone. This is super chromatic, and reminds me of the Wet n Wild Chrome polishes. This might be my favorite! It also goes on like a dream!

"Lingot" is a pretty, almost cool-toned gold with a little sparkle in it! What a lovely color! This is a bit "gloopy" and streaky like "Moss Have," so again, be careful with the application.

"Dark Bronze" is just that: a dark bronze! It is a warm shade of brown--like a cross between chocolate and sun tan (which sounds super weird, but is actually very pretty)--and we really like this a lot! The application is Typical of Most nail polishes I've tried. It goes on well with two coats--no complaints!

"Dancing Nails" is a reddish pink shade with a copper tone to it--and probably the loudest color in the collection! It is bright, fun, and happy! This is another "gloopy" one, so be careful spreading out one small glob, and it should look even with two cautiously applied coats.

Here are some pictures of the manicures we did with these colors...

These metallic shades are beautiful, and we are so happy to share them with you! We hope you love them as much as we do! Don't forget to leave us a comment and tell us what your favorite nail color is!
