WET N WILD: NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS | LIMITED EDITION HALLOWEEN MAKEUP | NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS DRUGSTORE MAKEUP

Prepare yourself for another post in our Feeling Pretty series...

I was pretty excited when my sister discovered the Wet n Wild Nightmare Before Christmas collection while she was at Walmart. Neither of us even knew Wet n Wild was releasing a limited edition Halloween collection. I'm not a huge fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, but the items in this collection are honestly so cute that fandom status didn't even matter.

The display itself is on the smaller side. Small enough that I walked past it multiple times while actively looking for it. Eventually I did find it...after doing at least three unnecessary laps through the makeup aisles like a confused ghost.

Top row - three lip and cheek colors, two color-changing lip oils, and a two-piece multistick set.

Second row - three-color blush palette, finishing powder, eye and face palette, sticky face primer, and mascara.

Third row - three liquid eyeliners, dual contour stick, and a glitter body illuminator.

Fourth row - makeup bags.

As always, I picked up the Eye & Face Palette. That decision shocked absolutely no one. I also grabbed the Sticky Serum Primer since I have never tried a dewy sticky primer before. My sister kindly let me try the Lip Oil she bought, partly so I could test it and partly so I could include it in this post.

Nightmare Before Christmas:

I immediately noticed this palette is on the smaller side, similar to the palette from the Scooby Doo collection. It makes me wonder if Wet n Wild is switching to this smaller palette size for future releases.

Another thing I noticed: no embossed design. Previous limited edition palettes usually have cute pressed patterns, so that felt like a missing detail.

There are 16 pigments total — a mix of mattes, shimmers, and glitters.

Blendability is nice overall. Some shades take a little extra work to build and blend compared to others, though the texture is very soft. Like other Wet n Wild face palettes, a few pigments are not eye safe

The Nightmare Before Christmas Eye & Face Palette can be purchased on the Wet n Wild website, Amazon, Walmart, CVS, and Ulta.

Two-Faced:

This lip oil caught my attention immediately. The shimmer. The purple. The overall spooky cuteness. I was sold before even opening it.

I also loved that the Mayor was featured on the packaging. Cute character details always earn bonus points.

When my sister first showed it to me, her first question was: "What does it smell like to you?"

After sniffing it like a detective investigating lip gloss evidence, I landed on peppermint mixed with...something.

She said it smelled like Hershey lip balm.

That was it. Peppermint chocolate.

The Color Changing Lip Oil-Two-Faced can be purchased at the Wet n Wild websiteAmazonWalmartCVS, and Ulta.

Unfortunately...this is where the excitement ended.

On my lips, it looked like a basic clear gloss. I could not see the shimmer at all, which was disappointing considering how pretty it looks in the bottle.

Worse than that, I had a reaction.

About a minute after applying, I felt tingling that quickly turned into burning. It got uncomfortable fast, and I wiped it off before even hitting the five-minute mark.

I wouldn't recommend this lip oil — both because of my reaction and because the visual payoff just was not there.

Sticky Serum Primer:

I bought this primer because I have never tried a sticky, dewy formula before. My experience has only been gel and putty primers, so I was curious.

The Sticky Serum Primer can be purchased at Wet n Wild websiteAmazonWalmartCVS, and Ulta.

First impression: it is definitely sticky.

It also takes a hot minute for the product to come through the pump, which caught me off guard the first time I used it.

For testing, I applied this primer on half my face and the e.l.f Poreless Putty Primer on the other half.

Effectiveness-wise, I noticed no difference.

Setting, however, was another story. I had to use extra powder on the sticky primer side because I could still feel the tackiness through my makeup. That part was a little annoying since it required extra product just to neutralize the texture.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I absolutely love the Eye & Face Palette. The color story is fun, the shimmers are beautiful, and it fits perfectly with the Halloween theme.

The Lip Oil was a disappointment — both visually and reaction-wise — so I wouldn't recommend it.

The Sticky Serum Primer did not perform any better than primers I already own. Because of that, I would skip repurchasing it.

Here's hoping I love the next limited edition collection more. A Hocus Pocus, Casper, or Addams Family theme would be ridiculously fun for Halloween. Wet n Wild, if you are listening, please make that happen.
