COLOURPOP: HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS | HOLIDAY GRINCH EYESHADOW PALETTE

Prepare yourself for another post in our Feeling Pretty series...

I was very excited when I heard about the How the Grinch Stole Christmas collection — but let's be honest, I was especially excited about the eyeshadow palette. At this point, would you expect anything less from me?

I did unfortunately forget to take a picture of the display when I spotted it at Target (tragic, I know), so I apologize for that, friends. The full collection includes three lip glosses with different swirl colors in each tube, two shadow sticks, two highlighters, a plumping clicker gloss and lip liner set, a body glitter gel, and — the star of today's show — the eyeshadow palette.

I grew up watching the classic 1966 How the Grinch Stole Christmas every Christmas Eve night. Even though I'm no longer a kid, I still absolutely love the Grinch! Honestly, the Grinch has aged better than most us.

Now let's talk about this palette's appearance, because WOW!

The packaging is ridiculously cute! Like, "I don't even want to use it because it's too adorable" cute. The glitter on the front? Sparkly perfection. The artwork inside the palette? Also adorable. It feels festive, nostalgic, and very much like it should be displayed proudly instead of hidden in a drawer. ColourPop really understood the assignment here.

The shadow colors themselves are beautiful, but I'll admit I was surprised by how many pinks and burgundies are in the palette — and how little green there is. I fully expected this to be mostly green (because, hello, Grinch), but I'm actually glad it's more balanced. That said...I do wish there were more greens and fewer pinks, because it would feel even more Grinch-appropriate.

Also, shoutout to ColourPop for not marking half the shades as "not eye safe." It's genuinely refreshing to just use the whole palette without side-eyeing ingredient labels. Thank you for that.

The palette includes mattes, matte shimmers, and metallics. Some shades are buttery soft, while a few of the metallics and shimmers are a bit gritty — but not glitter-level gritty, thankfully. One small downside: the shade names are a little hard to read because they used Grinch green text over a pink background. Cute idea, slightly chaotic execution.

The metallics are beautifully pigmented, while the mattes are softer but still buildable. Everything blends nicely and is pretty easy to work with overall.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas eyeshadow palette can be purchased at Ulta, Target, and ColourPop's website.

One thing I found interesting was how different some of the swatches looked on me compared to the swatches advertised online.

First row of shadows

CINDY-LOU WHO more powdery and a bit chunky to work with; it has peach, champagne, gold, and a hint of green (personally, I think CINDY-LOU WHO should've been MERRY! VERY! since she wears pink not peach)

MERRY! VERY! a subtle shimmer matte pink lemonade

MT. CRUMPIT a metallic vanilla in the palette, but on me it swatches more champagne with a hint of green

ROAST BEAST a matte navajo

STOLEN STOCKINGS a shimmer amaranth

Second row of shadows

MAX a matte cider

TINSEL a metallic lavender with subtle gold shimmer in the swatch instead of the palette

MR. GRINCH a lime metallic

STOLEN PRESENTS a chameleon metallic dull magenta that shifts bronze at certain angles

RIBBONS & BOWS a matte cameo coral

Third row of shadows

WHO'S CHEER a matte burgundy

WHO-PUDDING a matte shimmer rose romance

CUDDLY AS A CACTUS a metallic forest green

STINK STANK STUNK! a matte mahogany

SANTY CLAUS a metallic crimson with copper on the edges (this one really should've just been red, not coral-copper, but I digress)

Even though I don't agree with all of the names, I absolutely love this palette — especially because it's the Grinch. It's festive, fun, nostalgic, and gives you plenty of options to create different looks, whether you want something subtle or full holiday drama.

This palette makes me happy every time I open it, and honestly, that's exactly what a good themed collection should do. I really can't wait to see what ColourPop does next — especially if they keep leaning into fun throwbacks like this.

Leave a comment below if you still watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas, if you've tried this palette, or if you've picked up anything else from the collection. I'd love to hear what you thought!
