DIY RIBBON STORAGE: FOAM BOBBINS

Prepare yourself for another post in our Crafty Chaos series...

Hey, y'all! Don't you just love ribbon? So do we! And we love it even more now that we have a more efficient way to store and organize our ribbon!

We used to keep ribbons on their original bobbins and store them in a Sterilite box. But, it took up a lot of room, and we wanted something that allowed us to store more ribbon in a smaller space, and not make us want to pull our hair out time we tried to squeeze it back into the container after using it (UGH!)...So, we got a 2mm 12" x 18" foam sheet and cut our very own bobbins! (If you want to be super precise, you can use an Exacto-knife and a cutting mat with a grid to get the "slots" for the ribbon the exactly perfect size--that's what Kaitlyn did for all of hers, and that worked a little better than my winging it!) This way, we can customize the bobbins for the different widths of ribbon, and the foam sheets come in lots of fun colors.

What used to be in two and a half Sterilite boxes now fits in one, thanks to these space-saving foam bobbins! How cool is that?! (Although, now we prefer cute baskets over Sterilite drawers, just because the baskets are so dang cute!) Now it's way easier to take ribbon in and out ( because the bobbins are flexible!), and we can fit so much more into one spot, and it just doesn't get much better than that!
