REFINISHED DOLLAR TREE SEAHORSE SKELETON | BUDGET COASTAL DECOR DIY

Prepare yourself for another post in our Crafty Chaos series...

I spotted this cute (and slightly creepy...but in a fun way?) seahorse skeleton at Dollar Tree for $1.25 and immediately knew I wanted to give it a little makeover. I did a similar spray-paint refresh on some fall animals a couple weeks ago, and I loved how those turned out — so of course I had to do it again.

Because honestly...who can resist a bougie glow-up on a $1.25 skeleton?

Sprinki decided to be my sweet little helper during this project — supervising, of course, and making sure everything met her very high quality standards. (Moral support counts as helping.)

For this makeover, we used Rust-Oleum Gold Spray Paint, which I picked up at Walmart for $5.98.

After the paint dried, I closely inspected the seahorse to make sure I had sprayed every inch and didn't miss any little crevices. Skeleton decor has a lot of tiny details, so it's super easy to overlook spots if you're not paying attention.

Once the seahorse was fully spray painted and completely dry, it was ready to be displayed!

I absolutely love how this little seahorse turned out. It went from creepy Dollar Tree shelf decor...to shiny coastal glam in just one coat of paint. Dollar Tree seriously has some amazing items to refinish if you're willing to get a little crafty with them.

If you end up trying this project, feel free to let me know in the comments how yours turned out — I'd love to see your creations!
